What are those things, you ask? Siftables.

Siftables, created by David Merrill and Jeevan Kalanithi of the MIT Media Lab, are cookie-sized computers with motion sensing, neighbor detection, graphics display, and wireless communication capabilities. And while they may not look like much, they're going to change the way we interface with data. Instead of a mouse pointer acting as a virtual fingertip, you can now move Siftables to interact with each other.

For instance, in the music application, touch a Sequence Siftable with a Sound Siftable to make some noise. Adjust the reverb with an Effects Siftable. Change the volume by tilting the Volume Siftable. And if you need to rearrange your new masterpiece, just move the Sequence Siftables around in real time!

Words simply do Siftables no justice, so please, follow this link and see what Siftables are all about.
