THE
XCHANGE
Check out our Q&A's below for some details about The Xfire Xchange (TXX).
What is Xfire? Why should I try it?
- Xfire is a free-to-use IM client that can be used in your favorite PC games without you having to minimize your game or use up vital system resources. In addition to text-based messages, there is also an option to host a free voice server, much like other popular utilities like Ventrilo and TeamSpeak. Also, Xfire tracks the amount of time you play your (supported) games and can provide a detailed readout of your progress (or a forum signature; see mine below), and can even automatically download patches for your games! And with a nice clan system built into their website, you can rest assured that your clan mates will be in the know about upcoming events.
Xfire - Gaming Simplified
I've got Xfire, but what is The Xfire Xchange?
- The Xchange is a place where PC gamers can come together to share their Xfire usernames and potentially play games with other like-minded individuals. Exchanges like these are done on a lot of major PC gaming forums and can help forum members bond together in actual gameplay. After you add your buddy's username, you can immediately play games with your pal through Xfire's server selection system, or you can text or voice chat with that person through Xfire's IM client.
Sounds nice, but I want to get involved with people who play my favorite games. How is TXX going to address that?
- After filling out the three simple blanks below, I will organize your username in alphabetical order based on your game preferences. That way, people who want to play World of Warcraft with others can select someone from the WoW list instead of guessing which people want to play that game.

If you're ready to get involved with other LapGamer Xfire users, simply fill out the three small questions below, and I'll arrange your responses in the following post according to game preference.
